The hunger games was a book that I read before I became an avid reader it was possibly what drove me towards reading more books because I read that series in 2012 and Haymitch's character always intrigued me, I always wanted to know more about him and now finally after 12 years we are getting his book 😭 I AM SO HAPPY!
.There's a movie in development?!? (that was fast 😭)
.Its set 24 years before the hunger games.
.It is the 50th hunger games.

coming back to this space to rant a little more about my excitement and genuine NEEEED for this book

This woman only writes when she has things to say. I’m convinced that the state of this world has once again inspired her to uncap her pen and write up another story to open our eyes. Suzanne Collins wrote a book and proceeded to watch the world reenact her words. Now, I don’t care about your political stance. I care about the accuracy of these dystopian books and series, the books we read as children, the books that sit in our libraries. They’ve become too real, and too accurate to our actual world. A world in which the lives of our people, our men, women, children, and babies are now picked from the earth like flowers. When did living people become removable? When did death and bombings and loss become people’s normal? And, I ask whole heartedly with no personal vendetta against anyone’s beliefs, why do we support the districts in our novels, but not the ones in real life. Why do we cry for the people in our books but not for the people on our Earth? Why do we close our eyes and cover our ears to the terror WE refuse to fight for? Guilt, ignorance, and fear. We read these books and pretend we would fight for what’s right if put in this situation. Close your book. People are dying. Nobodies fighting.

No matter what genre you normally read these days, I really feel like this announcement has just united all readers again with the sheer excitement we have over this upcoming release!

I mean, I think we had all given up hope that we would ever get another Hunger Games book, but now this happens!?!? And it will be HAYMITCH’s games!?!?!

Yup, I am warning everyone in advance that I will go absolutely feral over this!!

I've only pre-ordered two books in my entire life: ASOIAF and Hunger Games.

The Book Gods have answered my prayers, we are getting Haymitch. 🤩 And as of today, I'm a few dollars poorer (the price for the eBook is absurd, and the price for the paper book is absurder), but a thousand times happier.

Long live Haymitch! Long live Katniss! Long live Peeta! Oh, and long live Suzanne Collins too, may she deliver a great story and make millions of faithful fans happy this year.

I have this pre-ordered, but with regular shipping, so I likely won't get it day-one. I would have opted for the Kindle edition, but all my other "Hunger Games" books are hardcovers and they all NEED to match! I'm OCD.

I'll admit, I'm not exactly at fever pitch for this release, Songbirds and Snakes really dampened my interest for new books in this series.
